  Rod Beamguard, an experienced kite-making instructor of Fort Worden, has chosen a German kite, the Schlangendrachen, for this event. He is perfecting the written directions.

Visually this kite makes a dramatic statement in the sky. While the kite is not in the beginner’s category, someone with sewing experience will be able to make it.
