Long-time Northwest kitemaker Rod Beamguard will be returning over
Presidents Weekend in February to teach a version of John Freeman’s
Goin’ and Comin’ kite. The kite is a very good flyer in moderate
winds, flying from a single bridle point. Finished size is nearly 8
feet tall and 4 feet wide. Unusual features of this kite are the
circular external framework and the overlapping of two main colors to
obtain a third color when the sun is behind the kite. Cost will be
$100. Students may furnish their own fabric, reducing the cost to $68.
Dates for the class are Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, February 13, 14,
and 15, 2016. It is likely that the kite will be finished in two days,
leaving Monday free to enjoy the coastal winds.
TO REGISTER STUDENTS SHOULD CONTACT ROD BEAMGUARD AT
ROKKAKU345@GMAIL.COM OR BY TELEPHONE AT EITHER 360.574.8050 BY THE END
OF THE DAY ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2016.
